Understand In the Name of the World
Useful when…
- A Nihility damage dealer who frequently attacks enemies with debuffs.
- A wearer whose Skill attack benefits from increased Effect Hit Rate and ATK.
What effects are unconditional?
At S1, the wearer deals 24% more damage to debuffed enemies. When the wearer uses Skill, that attack gains 18% Effect Hit Rate and the wearer gains 24% ATK. The Effect Hit Rate is specified for that attack; it is not a general Effect Hit Rate increase for all actions. At S5, these values rise to 40%, 30%, and 40%, respectively.
What situations and comparisons matter?
The damage bonus relies on the target already having a debuff, while the Skill-specific bonuses favor a wearer whose Skill both deals damage and applies effects. Along the Passing Shore increases CRIT DMG and applies its own one-turn Mirage Fizzle when hitting an enemy. Before the Tutorial Mission Starts instead grants Effect Hit Rate and restores Energy when attacking DEF-reduced enemies. Boundless Choreo supplies CRIT Rate and more CRIT DMG against slowed or DEF-reduced enemies. Their conditions are different; choose based on the wearer's damage and debuff needs rather than rarity alone.
What should you upgrade?
Promotion advances the Light Cone through six stages and develops base stats. Superimposition improves the debuffed-target damage and the Skill's Effect Hit Rate and ATK bonuses; each shown step consumes a duplicate. Refinement is most relevant when the wearer reliably uses Skills against debuffed targets.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The damage increase requires the target to be debuffed.
- The Effect Hit Rate increase applies to the Skill attack, not all actions.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat the Skill's Effect Hit Rate bonus as a permanent increase for the wearer.
- Do not expect the damage bonus against targets without debuffs.
