Incessant Rain GUIDE
Understand Incessant Rain
Useful when…
- A Nihility wearer who frequently attacks targets carrying three or more debuffs.
- A wearer whose attacks can spread Aether Code to targets without it.
What conditions govern the bonuses?
At S1, the wearer gains 24% Effect Hit Rate. Dealing damage to an enemy with at least three debuffs grants the wearer 12% CRIT Rate. After the wearer uses Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, there is a 100% base chance to implant Aether Code on a random hit target that does not already have it. Aether Code increases damage received by that target by 12% for 1 turn. S5 raises these percentages to 40%, 20%, and 20%, respectively; the three-debuff condition and one-turn duration remain.
What makes a useful target?
Its CRIT Rate condition counts debuffs on the enemy, so it is most relevant when the wearer can attack a target with at least three. Aether Code is assigned to a random hit target without the effect, rather than a chosen target. Along the Passing Shore increases CRIT DMG and damage against enemies carrying its Mirage Fizzle. Before the Tutorial Mission Starts rewards attacks against DEF-reduced enemies with Energy. Boundless Choreo adds CRIT Rate and conditional CRIT DMG against slowed or DEF-reduced enemies. Their target conditions differ from Incessant Rain's debuff-count requirement.
What is worth improving?
Promotion raises the Light Cone through six stages. Superimposition increases Effect Hit Rate, conditional CRIT Rate, and Aether Code's damage-taken increase; the shown steps consume a duplicate copy. Promote for base stats, and consider refinement when the wearer can regularly meet the debuff threshold and apply Aether Code to useful targets.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The CRIT Rate requires at least three debuffs on the enemy being damaged.
- Aether Code is assigned to a random hit target without it and lasts 1 turn.
- Superimposition consumes duplicate copies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not count Aether Code itself as enough to satisfy the separate three-debuff condition unless the target actually has three debuffs.
- Do not assume Aether Code selects a chosen target; it goes to a random eligible hit target.
