Long Road Leads Home

Break-focused Nihility Light Cone

Introduced in v2.7

Long Road Leads Home gives its wearer Break Effect and can make enemies take more Break DMG after their Weakness is broken. Consider it for a Nihility wearer whose attacks can trigger Weakness Breaks and whose value centers on Break damage.

Understand Long Road Leads Home

Useful when…

  • A Nihility Break build that can repeatedly break enemy Weaknesses.
  • Encounters where the wearer can apply Charring to targets that remain vulnerable for its duration.

What does it do?

At S1 it grants 60% Break Effect. When an enemy's Weakness is broken, there is a 100% base chance to inflict Charring for two turns; Charring increases that target's Break DMG taken by 18% and can stack twice. At S5, these values become 100% Break Effect and 30% increased Break DMG taken per stack. The chance is a base chance, so it is not a blanket guarantee against all resistance conditions.

When is it useful?

Its effects reward a wearer who contributes to breaking Weakness and can make use of Break damage. Charring applies when a Weakness is broken, so it does not provide the same immediate value against targets that are not being broken. The stated effect increases Break DMG taken; it does not say that all damage is increased.

How should it be improved?

Promotion raises the Light Cone's level, while superimposition improves its Break Effect and Charring bonus. The listed superimposition steps consume another copy at each step; weigh that copy cost against upgrading other Light Cones before pursuing higher superimpositions.

How does it compare?

Along the Passing Shore instead gives CRIT DMG and increases damage against targets it marks, with an extra Ultimate bonus; it supports a different damage profile. Before the Tutorial Mission Starts provides Effect Hit Rate and restores Energy when attacking DEF-reduced enemies. Boundless Choreo gives CRIT Rate and more CRIT DMG against Slowed or DEF-reduced enemies. These are alternatives only if their specific stats and conditions fit the wearer.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Break bonuses depend on actually breaking enemy Weakness; this is not a general-purpose damage increase.
  • Higher superimpositions require sacrificing additional copies.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Treating Charring as a general damage-taken debuff rather than one specifically for Break DMG.
  • Assuming a 100% base chance guarantees the effect regardless of enemy resistance.
