Understand Past and Future
Useful when…
- Consider it when the intended ally is likely to act next after the wearer's Skill.
How does its effect work?
After the wearer uses Skill, the next ally taking action, excluding the wearer, deals increased damage for one turn. The bonus is 16% at S1 and 32% at S5. The effect follows action order rather than selecting a named ally.
When does the timing fit?
If another ally acts before the intended damage dealer, that ally receives the bonus instead. A Grounded Ascent grants a stack to the ally targeted by the wearer's Skill or Ultimate and restores Energy to its wearer. But the Battle Isn't Over shares the next-ally timing after Skill, and also lists Energy Regeneration and conditional Skill Point recovery.
What can be upgraded?
Promotion advances the Light Cone through six stages. Superimposition raises its damage bonus from 16% to 32%; supplied examples show a sacrifice copy for selected steps. Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds instead applies a randomly selected team buff that changes at the wearer's turn start.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The recipient is determined by action order, not chosen by the wearer.
- The bonus requires the wearer to use Skill and lasts one turn.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the wearer can select the recipient.
- Ignoring which ally will take the next action.
