Understand Past Self in Mirror
Useful when…
- Adding Break Effect to a Harmony wearer.
- Supporting allies with a timed damage buff and wave-start Energy.
- Recovering a Skill Point when the wearer reaches the specified Break Effect threshold and uses their Ultimate.
Effect and conditions
At S1, the wearer gains 60% Break Effect. Using their Ultimate increases all allies' DMG by 24% for 3 turns. If the wearer's Break Effect is at least 150%, the effect recovers 1 Skill Point. At each wave's start, all allies immediately regenerate 10 Energy. Effects of the same type cannot stack. At S5, the values rise to 100% Break Effect, 40% team DMG, and 20 Energy, while the 150% threshold and 3-turn duration remain unchanged.
When it fits and alternatives
The Skill Point return is conditional: the wearer needs at least 150% Break Effect and must use their Ultimate. The team damage buff also starts from that Ultimate. A Grounded Ascent instead rewards using Skill or Ultimate on one ally with Energy and Hymn stacks, and recovers a Skill Point after every two qualifying uses. But the Battle Isn't Over grants Energy Regeneration Rate and can recover a Skill Point when the wearer uses an Ultimate on an ally, once after every two Ultimate uses. Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds cycles randomly among team ATK, CRIT DMG, and Energy Regeneration Rate bonuses at battle start and the wearer's turns. These options differ in targeting and trigger requirements.
Investment
Promotion raises the Light Cone's level. Superimposition improves Break Effect, team DMG, and wave-start Energy; it does not lower the 150% Break Effect threshold or extend the buff duration. Promotion is the broad progression route. Higher superimposition is more compelling when the increased support values matter, but requires another copy.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Skill Point recovery requires at least 150% Break Effect and an Ultimate.
- The team DMG increase depends on the wearer using their Ultimate and lasts 3 turns.
- Wave-start Energy is distinct from Energy generation during a wave.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the Skill Point is recovered automatically; the wearer must have at least 150% Break Effect and use an Ultimate.
- Treating the wave-start Energy as recurring Energy each turn.
- Assuming the team DMG buff stacks with another effect of the same type.
