Patience Is All You Need

The Nihility damage, speed, and Erode Light Cone

Introduced in v1.0

Patience Is All You Need increases wearer damage, builds SPD after each attack, and inflicts Erode on targets without it. Consider it for a Nihility wearer who attacks often and can benefit from its Lightning damage-over-time effect and speed stacks.

Understand Patience Is All You Need

Useful when…

  • A Nihility wearer who launches repeated attacks to build SPD.
  • A wearer who can apply Erode to targets and benefits from the resulting Lightning damage over time.

What does Erode do?

At S1, the wearer gains 24% damage. After each attack they launch, their SPD increases by 4.8%, up to three stacks. When the wearer hits a target without Erode, there is a 100% base chance to inflict it. Erode counts as Shocked and deals Lightning damage over time at the start of each turn equal to 60% of the wearer's ATK for 1 turn. S5 raises damage to 40%, speed per stack to 8%, and the DoT fraction to 100% of ATK. Erode's stated base chance does not itself guarantee application against every possible target condition.

Who benefits from its attack cycle?

Repeated attacks can build the SPD bonus, and hitting a target without Erode can apply the debuff and its short DoT. The effect's value is therefore tied to how often the wearer attacks and whether Erode needs to be applied again. Along the Passing Shore grants CRIT DMG and damage against targets with its own Mirage Fizzle. Before the Tutorial Mission Starts gives Effect Hit Rate and Energy when attacking DEF-reduced enemies. Boundless Choreo improves CRIT stats against slowed or DEF-reduced enemies. These support different attack patterns and debuff conditions.

How should you invest?

Promotion develops base stats over six stages. Superimposition raises the damage, SPD per stack, and Erode DoT fraction, but each shown step consumes a duplicate copy. Promotion is the basic level investment; refinement is most relevant when repeated attacks and Erode application are central to the wearer's combat pattern.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The SPD effect needs attacks and is capped at three stacks.
  • Erode lasts 1 turn and only applies to a target that does not already have it.
  • The DoT is Lightning damage based on the wearer's ATK.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Do not mistake the stated 100% base chance for guaranteed application in all circumstances.
  • Do not treat Erode as a permanent debuff; it lasts 1 turn.
  • Do not assume the SPD bonus exceeds its three-stack cap.
