Solitary Healing

Nihility Break Effect and damage-over-time Light Cone

Introduced in v1.3

Solitary Healing increases Break Effect and boosts the wearer’s damage over time after Ultimate. It also restores Energy when an enemy defeated by the wearer’s own damage over time dies. Consider it for a Nihility wearer built around personal damage over time and Ultimate use.

Solitary Healing GUIDE

Understand Solitary Healing

Useful when…

  • Wearer who applies damage over time and uses Ultimate to maintain its temporary bonus.
  • Encounters where enemies afflicted by the wearer’s damage over time are defeated.

What does it do?

It increases the wearer’s Break Effect. After the wearer uses Ultimate, their damage-over-time damage increases for two turns. If an enemy suffering from damage over time imposed by the wearer is defeated, the wearer restores Energy. The Energy return requires both the wearer’s own damage over time on the target and that target’s defeat.

When does the Energy return matter?

The Energy effect can help after defeating enemies that carry the wearer’s damage over time, making it conditional on both the wearer’s application and an enemy defeat. It is not described as triggering when an ally’s damage over time defeats an enemy or when the wearer defeats a target without their own damage over time on it.

How should it be improved?

Promotion raises the Light Cone’s level. Superimposition increases Break Effect, the Ultimate-triggered damage-over-time bonus, and the Energy return. Consider promotion for base stats; invest copies when the wearer can use the damage-over-time window and personally meet the Energy trigger.

How does it differ from other Nihility choices?

Along the Passing Shore offers CRIT DMG and hit-triggered bonuses to damage and Ultimate damage. Before the Tutorial Mission Starts adds Effect Hit Rate and restores Energy when attacking DEF-reduced enemies. Boundless Choreo improves CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG against Slowed or DEF-reduced enemies. Their conditions differ from Solitary Healing’s Break Effect, damage-over-time window, and wearer-applied damage-over-time defeat trigger.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The damage-over-time bonus requires Ultimate and lasts two turns.
  • Energy returns only when an enemy defeated is affected by damage over time imposed by the wearer.
  • Break Effect alone does not trigger its damage-over-time effects.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming any damage-over-time defeat restores the wearer’s Energy.
  • Treating the two-turn damage-over-time increase as permanent.
