Understand Summer Rides the Surf
Useful when…
- Elation wearers that use Elation Skills regularly and can alternate between different skills.
- Skill Point-conscious parties that can benefit from its wave-start or repeated-use recovery.
How do its skill bonuses work?
Using an Elation Skill grants Updraft, which increases the wearer’s SPD. If the skill differs from the one used last time, the wearer also gains Uptrend, increasing Elation. The Light Cone separately increases CRIT Rate. The SPD and Elation percentages rise with superimposition.
When does it restore a Skill Point?
It recovers one Skill Point when each wave starts or after the wearer uses Elation Skill three times. These are separate triggers. The effect does not say that every Elation Skill use restores a point; repeated uses reach the stated threshold, while each new wave supplies its own trigger.
Who should consider it?
It fits an Elation wearer whose kit can use Elation Skills and, for Uptrend, can switch between different skills from the last one used. If the wearer repeats the same Elation Skill, Updraft still follows use, but the additional Elation condition is not met on that use. The Skill Point recovery can help offset party spending over time.
What does investment change?
Promotion raises the Light Cone’s level. Superimposition increases CRIT Rate, SPD, and Elation values; it does not change the stated three-use Skill Point threshold. A Little Getaway gives Elation and DEF ignore during Elation Skill without the same alternating-skill condition. Colors for Tomorrow supports an Elation Skill used on all allies with enemy damage taken increase, Energy, and healing. Dazzled by a Flowery World instead connects its benefits to Elation characters and Skill Point consumption.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The extra Elation bonus requires using a different Elation Skill from the previous one.
- The repeated-use Skill Point refund takes three Elation Skill uses.
- Copy-based superimposition does not reduce the Skill Point threshold.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every Elation Skill triggers a Skill Point refund.
- Expecting Uptrend when repeating the same Elation Skill.
