Those Many Springs

Nihility Light Cone for Effect Hit Rate and enemy damage vulnerability with a DoT upgrade condition

Introduced in v2.4

Those Many Springs raises Effect Hit Rate and can make an enemy take more damage after the wearer attacks. If the wearer has applied a DoT to the target, the vulnerability may upgrade to a stronger state. Consider it for a Nihility wearer who can apply DoT and benefits from the team-facing damage vulnerability.

Understand Those Many Springs

Useful when…

  • A Nihility wearer who applies DoT to enemies.
  • A debuff-focused build that can use increased damage taken on a target.

How do Unarmored and Cornered work?

At S1, the wearer gains 60% Effect Hit Rate. After their Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate attacks an enemy, there is a 60% base chance to inflict Unarmored for 2 turns; an Unarmored target takes 10% more damage. If that target is under a DoT state inflicted by the wearer, there is a 60% base chance to upgrade the wearer’s Unarmored to Cornered, which additionally increases the damage the target receives by 14% for the same duration. During that period, the wearer cannot inflict Unarmored on that target. At S5, Effect Hit Rate is 100%, Unarmored increases damage taken by 18%, and Cornered adds 22%; the two listed base chances remain 60%.

When should a player consider it?

The Light Cone’s Effect Hit Rate supports its attack-triggered debuff, while the stronger Cornered state depends on a DoT inflicted by the wearer on that target. The damage-taken bonus can benefit damage from the party, making the condition relevant to players who want the wearer’s attacks to also apply vulnerability. Along the Passing Shore instead gives personal CRIT DMG and bonuses to the wearer against Mirage Fizzle targets, with extra Ultimate damage. Before the Tutorial Mission Starts gives Effect Hit Rate and restores Energy when attacking DEF-reduced enemies. Boundless Choreo supplies CRIT Rate and stronger CRIT DMG against Slowed or DEF-reduced enemies. These alternatives serve different triggers and damage roles.

How should copies be prioritized?

Promotion advances the Light Cone through six stages. Superimposition consumes one S1 copy for each step; it raises Effect Hit Rate, the Unarmored damage-taken value, and Cornered’s additional value. Consider promotion for level growth. Extra copies are a more specific investment when the wearer applies DoT and the target vulnerability is useful to the party.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Unarmored and its upgrade use base chances, not guaranteed application.
  • Cornered requires a DoT inflicted by the wearer on the same target.
  • While Cornered is active, this wearer cannot inflict Unarmored on that target.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming any ally’s DoT satisfies the Cornered upgrade condition; the DoT must be inflicted by the wearer.
  • Treating either 60% base chance as a guarantee.
