Understand Broken Keel
Useful when…
- A wearer who can reach 30% Effect RES and whose allies benefit from CRIT DMG.
- A wearer who values the base 10% Effect RES, even if the team bonus is not activated.
How does the set activate?
The two-piece effect grants the wearer 10% Effect RES. If the wearer's Effect RES is at least 30%, all allies gain 10% CRIT DMG. The condition belongs to the wearer; the resulting CRIT DMG increase applies to all allies.
When should you consider it?
It is a support-oriented option when the wearer can satisfy the Effect RES threshold and the team can use CRIT DMG. Count the team bonus only after checking the wearer's Effect RES, including the set's own 10% contribution where applicable.
How does it differ from alternatives?
Bone Collection's Serene Demesne increases the wearer's Max HP and, at 5000 HP, raises CRIT DMG for the wearer and their memosprite. Broken Keel instead uses the wearer's Effect RES threshold to grant CRIT DMG to all allies. City of Converging Stars provides a different team CRIT DMG effect when an enemy is defeated, alongside a Follow-Up ATK condition for the wearer.
What should you avoid?
Do not assume the party CRIT DMG bonus activates below 30% Effect RES. Also distinguish its all-allies effect from options whose beneficiaries or activation conditions are narrower.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The team-wide CRIT DMG increase requires 30% Effect RES on the wearer.
- The party bonus may be less useful when allies do not benefit much from CRIT DMG.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Counting the team CRIT DMG bonus without checking the wearer's 30% Effect RES.
- Confusing a team-wide bonus with a wearer-only or memosprite-specific effect.
