Understand Firmament Frontline: Glamoth
Useful when…
- An ATK-based damage dealer who benefits from the unconditional 12% ATK.
- A wearer whose SPD reaches 135 or 160 for the conditional damage increase.
How do the speed thresholds work?
The set always grants 12% ATK. At SPD of at least 135, it adds 12% damage; at 160 SPD or higher, the damage increase is 18%. The higher threshold corresponds to the larger listed bonus.
When is the investment sensible?
Consider the lower threshold if 135 SPD fits the build while preserving useful stats. Reaching 160 SPD is only a sensible target when the additional damage increase is worth the SPD investment for that wearer. The set still grants ATK below 135 SPD.
How does it compare with other damage sets?
Revelry by the Sea gives ATK and conditionally boosts DoT damage based on ATK thresholds of 2400 and 3600. Cosmic Life Sciences Institute conditions its damage increase on Max Energy of at least 200, scaling with excess Energy up to a stated cap. Those conditions target different build stats than Glamoth's SPD thresholds.
What should you avoid?
Do not count a speed-based damage bonus before reaching its threshold. Avoid treating 160 SPD as a default target; the set's 135 SPD tier already has its own damage increase.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The larger damage bonus requires 160 SPD, while the 12% tier requires 135 SPD.
- The value of the thresholds depends on whether the wearer benefits from ATK and the damage increase.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating 135 and 160 SPD as the same damage tier.
- Pursuing 160 SPD without weighing the additional stat investment against the increase from the 135 SPD tier.
