Effect and requirements
A fatal strike against an enemy also performs a Codex Scan. The scan requires an equipped Codex Scanner and an available charge. It has no rank progression: its maximum rank is 0.
Slot and investment
This standard Archmelee mod has Vazarin polarity and base drain 10. Since its rank track is fixed at 0, there is no ranking path to improve the effect; consider the slot and drain against the scanning utility you expect to get from fatal strikes.
Combat-focused alternatives
Astral Slash increases Slash, Blazing Steel adds Heat, and Bleeding Edge increases critical damage. These are damage-stat mods rather than scanning effects, so they serve a different Archmelee purpose.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Requires a Codex Scanner and an available charge for scans.
- Uses a standard Archmelee slot and has base drain 10.
- Cannot be ranked beyond rank 0.

- Do not expect a scan from a nonfatal strike or without an equipped scanner and available charge.
