Understand Anku
Useful when…
- Use normal strikes for the listed 170 damage, mostly Puncture, at about 1.08 attacks per second.
- Use regular or heavy slams for distinct area attacks when enemies are gathered nearby.
- Consider the Anku when you want a scythe with 20% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and a Madurai polarity.
What does it do?
Normal attacks list 170 damage: 136 Puncture, 25.5 Impact, and 8.5 Slash. They have 20% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 10% status chance. The regular slam is an area Impact attack listed at 340 damage, with falloff out to 8 m; the heavy slam is an area Blast attack listed at 510, with falloff out to 9 m. Both slam modes list 10% status chance. These are separate attack modes, not extra damage to add to the normal strike.
Handling and investment
Anku lists 2.8 m range, 0.6 follow-through, a five-second combo duration, and a one-second heavy-attack wind-up. The listed mastery requirement is 3.
Compare by weapon role
Destreza is a rapier with a higher listed critical chance of 28% and the same 2× critical multiplier, but requires mastery rank 7. Scindo is a heavy blade, not a scythe, and is described as slower with heavy multi-target strikes. Cadus is a staff with 15% critical chance and a 2× multiplier. These comparisons help distinguish weapon types and listed stats; they do not establish that one is a direct substitute.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Normal damage is concentrated in Puncture, with little Slash.
- The heavy-attack wind-up is 1 second, and the listed attack speed is about 1.08 per second.
- Slam attacks have area falloff, so their listed center damage should not be assumed across the full radius.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not describe the normal attack as Slash-focused; its largest listed component is Puncture.
- Do not treat the 340 regular-slam Impact and 510 heavy-slam Blast as normal-attack damage.
- Do not assume the scythe's comparison candidates share its attack modes.
