Understand Boltace
Useful when…
- Use normal attacks for its Puncture-heavy damage mix.
- Use slam attacks for area Impact damage, or heavy slams for area Blast damage.
Attack profile
Normal attacks list 176 damage: 140.8 Puncture, 17.6 Impact, and 17.6 Slash. They have 6% critical chance, a 1.5× critical multiplier, 28% status chance, and a listed speed of 0.917. The regular slam deals 352 Impact in an area, with falloff from 0 to 8 m and 50% reduction at the endpoint. The heavy slam deals 528 Blast over an area, with falloff from 0 to 9 m and 30% reduction. The weapon's listed range is 2.5 m and heavy-attack wind-up is 0.7 seconds.
Building around its strengths
Boltace's low 6% critical chance and 1.5× multiplier make it less naturally suited to a critical-first investment than weapons with stronger listed critical stats. Its 28% normal-attack status chance and Puncture-heavy profile support considering status-oriented upgrades instead; actual results depend on the chosen build. It has no listed polarity, so plan for the cost of fitting mods without a pre-matched slot. Its shorter 2.5 m listed range favors staying close.
Alternatives and limitations
Ankyros is a fist weapon with a 20% listed critical chance and 2× multiplier, while Dual Raza is a dual-sword option with 25% critical chance and 3× multiplier. Those figures may matter if critical potential is your priority, but their handling differs from tonfas and the comparison provides no full attack profiles. Coda Motovore is a mastery-rank-17 hammer whose description notes a wheel buff tied to its modded physical damage; it is a specialized alternative with a substantially higher rank requirement. Boltace's basic damage stats do not include that kind of conditional effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Very low listed critical chance and multiplier.
- Listed range is 2.5 m.
- Its Puncture-heavy normal damage does not make every enemy equally suitable.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Building around critical chance as if Boltace had a high listed base value.
- Assuming the heavy-slam Blast attack describes its normal strikes, which are primarily Puncture.
