Understand Coda Pathocyst
Useful when…
- Use the throw or charged throw when you want ranged glaive attacks.
- Use bounce or recall explosions for area damage; the listed damage and falloff differ by mode.
- Consider its innate Viral damage and listed status chances when planning a build.
Thrown and explosion attacks
A normal throw lists 22% critical chance, 2.4× critical multiplier, and 36% status chance, with 49 Impact, 80 Slash, 45 Puncture, and 123 Viral damage. Its bounce explosion deals 405 Viral damage with 50% reduction by 4.9 m; its recall explosion lists 810 Viral damage with zero falloff reduction. A charged throw takes 1.2 seconds and lists 24% critical chance, 2.5× multiplier, and 38% status chance, dealing 131 Impact, 137 Slash, 125 Puncture, and 201 Viral. The charged bounce explosion deals 810 Viral with 50% falloff reduction; charged recall deals 1620 Viral with zero falloff reduction. These are separate modes, not a single combined hit.
Melee and slam modes
Normal melee attacks deal 58 Impact, 55 Puncture, 65 Slash, and 92 Viral damage, with 20% critical chance, 2.3× multiplier, and 35% status chance. The regular slam deals 540 Viral damage in an area; the heavy slam deals 810 Viral. Both list 30% status chance and have different falloff ranges. The glaive’s listed range is 1.3 m, follow-through is 0.7, combo duration is five seconds, and it has Madurai and Vazarin polarities.
Miasmites and alternatives
The description states that enhanced enemy-seeking miasmites may spawn while the glaive is in flight or on enemy contact; it does not provide a spawn rate. Coda Caustacyst is a scythe with a charged corrosive wave and pool, while Coda Mire is a sword with innate Toxin in its detailed profile. Consider those only if you want their distinct weapon type and attack mechanics.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Charged throws require 1.2 seconds.
- The normal melee range is 1.3 m; thrown attacks use separate profiles.
- The miasmite description gives no spawn rate.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat bounce and recall explosions as equivalent; their listed falloff differs.
- Do not apply the charged throw’s 1.2 second charge time or damage values to a normal throw.
