Understand Dex Nikana
Useful when…
- Use normal attacks for Slash-heavy close combat.
- Use slam attacks for the separate Impact or Blast area damage modes.
- Use its two listed polarities to fit compatible mods.
How do normal attacks perform?
Normal attacks deal 126 Slash, 25.2 Puncture, and 16.8 Impact damage. Their listed critical chance is 24%, critical multiplier 2.6×, and status chance 18%. Speed is 1, range is 2.5, and follow-through is 0.7. The damage split puts most normal-attack damage in Slash.
What are the slam modes?
The slam is an area attack dealing 336 Impact damage, with falloff from 0 to 6 meters and 50% reduction at the far end. Heavy slam deals 504 Blast damage, with falloff from 0 to 7 meters and 30% reduction at the far end. Both list 10% status chance, so do not carry over the normal strike’s 18%.
What does its slot and stat profile support?
The weapon has one Madurai and one Naramon polarity. Its critical chance and 2.6× multiplier give it a solid listed critical profile, while its 18% status chance is lower than the critical chance. A mixed setup can use both sides of that profile, with mod choices guided by the available polarities.
How is it distinct from alternatives?
Dex Dakra is a mastery-rank-6 dual-sword weapon with 16% critical chance and a 2× multiplier, so it offers different handling and lower listed critical stats. Dragon Nikana is also rank 8 but lists 22% critical chance and a 2× multiplier. These are contextual comparisons, not automatic replacements; Dex Nikana’s own balance of slash-heavy damage, critical stats, and polarities is the relevant reason to choose it.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The normal damage profile is concentrated in Slash.
- Slam modes use different damage types and lower status chances.
- It requires mastery rank 8, compared with Dex Dakra’s rank 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the Slam and Heavy Slam status chances equal the normal attack’s 18%.
- Treating its normal Slash-heavy profile as applicable to slam damage.
- Comparing it with dual swords without accounting for the different weapon handling.
