Understand Fragor
Useful when…
- Use for deliberate close melee with Impact-heavy normal and direct Heavy Attacks.
- Use regular or Heavy Slam attacks when area damage suits the encounter.
What does each attack do?
Normal attacks deal 200 total damage: 140 Impact, 30 Puncture, and 30 Slash. They have 20% critical chance, a 2× multiplier, and 10% status chance at 0.833 speed. Regular Slam deals 400 Impact in an area with 50% falloff from 0 to 9 metres. Heavy Slam deals 600 Blast with 30% falloff from 0 to 10 metres. The listed direct Heavy Attack damage is 1,200, separate from the 1,000 Heavy Slam figure.
When should you consider it?
Fragor requires only Mastery Rank 2 and has a 2.5 listed range, but its slower attack speed and 1.2-second Heavy Attack wind-up ask for timing. Its 20% critical chance and 2× multiplier support a possible critical focus, while the 10% normal status chance offers a less status-oriented starting point. These are conditional investment directions, not a promised build outcome.
Which alternatives change the feel?
Gram is a heavy blade with a description emphasizing multi-target swings; Bo is a staff described as sending multiple enemies airborne; Stropha is a gunblade with a short-range shockwave. These candidates change weapon class and stated attack behavior, so they are worth comparing only if those handling differences fit your needs. Their candidate descriptions do not establish a direct performance ranking against Fragor.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Slow 0.833 normal attack speed and 1.2-second Heavy Attack wind-up.
- Normal status chance is 10%.
- Slam attacks have area falloff.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not conflate direct Heavy Attack damage with Heavy Slam area damage.
- Do not assume the low normal status chance is the same as an unspecified status effect.
