Understand Furax
Useful when…
- Use for close-range melee when its short reach is acceptable.
- Consider a critical-oriented investment based on its listed critical chance and multiplier.
What do its attack modes do?
Normal attacks deal 135 total damage: 94.5 Impact, about 20.25 Puncture, and about 20.25 Slash. They have 25% critical chance, a 2.3× multiplier, and 11% status chance at speed 1. Regular Slam deals 270 Impact in an area with 50% falloff from 0 to 8 metres. Heavy Slam deals 405 Blast in an area with 30% falloff from 0 to 9 metres. Both slam modes list 10% status chance. Direct Heavy Attack damage is listed separately at 675.
When does Furax fit?
The short 1.25 range means it is suited to players comfortable fighting close. Its normal attack’s 25% critical chance and 2.3× multiplier make critical-oriented investment plausible, while 11% normal status chance is modest. It has no listed polarity and requires Mastery Rank 5. Its reach and high follow-through distinguish its handling from longer melee classes, but do not guarantee hits beyond its listed range.
Which candidates offer a different profile?
Ankyros is also a fist weapon, requiring Mastery Rank 2, and its description specifically notes close-quarters speed; its listed critical chance is 20% and multiplier 2×. Furax Wraith is another fist candidate requiring Mastery Rank 9, with 30% critical chance and 2.7× multiplier. Galatine is a heavy blade described as hitting multiple foes in one swing, so it changes weapon class if you want reach or multi-target handling rather than fist combat.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Very short 1.25 listed range.
- Normal status chance is 11%.
- Area slams have falloff.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not conflate the direct Heavy Attack with Heavy Slam area damage.
- Do not assume high follow-through compensates for the short listed range.
