Understand Glaive Prime
Useful when…
- Using normal or charged throws and their separate explosion modes.
- Combining close melee attacks with ranged throws.
- Comparing its throw properties with standard Glaive.
Close attacks and throws
Normal attacks deal 164 listed damage with 22% critical chance, a 2× multiplier, and 30% status chance. Normal throws list 24% critical chance, a 2.2× multiplier, and 32% status chance. Charged throws take 1.2 seconds and list 26% critical chance, a 2.4× multiplier, and 34% status chance.
Bounce and recall explosions
A normal throw's bounce explosion deals 296 Blast with a 40% reduction at the 4.8-unit falloff endpoint; its recall explosion deals 592 Blast with no listed falloff. A charged throw's bounce explosion deals 592 Blast with a 40% reduction at that endpoint; its charged recall explosion deals 1,184 Blast with no listed falloff. Regular and heavy slams are separate area attacks, dealing 328 Impact and 492 Blast, respectively.
Handling and polarities
Normal attacks and throws list speed 1.25, while charged throws list speed 0.833 and a 1.2-second charge time. The weapon has Madurai and Naramon polarities, a five-second combo duration, and 0.7 follow-through.
Comparisons
Compared with standard Glaive, Glaive Prime lists higher normal critical chance (22% versus 12%) and status chance (30% versus 12%); normal throw status chance is 32% versus 14%. Fang Prime is a dual-dagger weapon and Sigma & Octantis is a sword-and-shield weapon, offering different melee formats. Its cached Vaulted tag does not establish current acquisition conditions.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Charged throws require 1.2 seconds.
- Bounce explosions list falloff; recall explosions have no listed falloff.
- The throw and explosion modes have distinct attack properties.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying normal melee status chance to throws or explosions.
- Treating the 4.8-unit falloff endpoint as where bounce-explosion reduction begins.
- Applying charged bounce-explosion damage to the charged recall explosion.
