Hate GUIDE

Understand Hate

Useful when…

  • Close combat using its normal attack profile.
  • Using the spectral blade projectile and its separate Heat explosion.

Normal attack and handling

Hate requires Mastery Rank 8. Its normal attack deals 230 listed damage, including 161 Slash, with 30% critical chance, a 2.5× critical multiplier, and 20% status chance. Attack speed is about 0.917, range is 2.8 m, and combo duration is 5 seconds.

Spectral blade and slams

The spectral blade is a separate projectile attack with listed projectile speed 60 and the same listed 30% critical chance, 2.5× multiplier, and 20% status chance. Its physical projectile damage is followed by a distinct area explosion listing 130 Heat damage, with 30% falloff by 3 m. A regular slam lists 460 Impact, with 50% falloff by 8 m; a heavy slam lists 690 Blast, with 30% falloff by 9 m.

Other scythes

Reaper Prime is another scythe with a listed 35% critical chance and 2.5× multiplier; the comparison does not include its detailed attack behavior. Anku has a 20% critical chance, 2× multiplier, and Mastery Rank 3 requirement. Coda Caustacyst requires Mastery Rank 17 and its description names improved damage, status chance, critical damage, and longer-lasting acid pools.

Distinct attack entries

The spectral blade’s Heat explosion is not part of the normal attack’s listed damage. Slam damage is also reported separately from normal melee damage, and the slam entries include their own falloff distances and reductions.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Its listed normal attack combines 30% critical chance and a 2.5× multiplier with 0.917 attack speed.
  • The spectral blade explosion has 30% falloff by 3 m.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Adding the spectral blade explosion to every normal hit.
  • Omitting the separate slam falloff distances and reductions.
