Understand Hildryn
Useful when…
- Replenishing Shields and Overshields while stripping enemy defenses.
- Removing Status Effects from herself and allies with Pillage.
- Providing an ally shield aura and lifting enemies with Aegis Storm.
Abilities and shield mechanics
Hildryn has 1,280 Shields, 180 Health, and 315 Armor, with 0 Power listed. Her description says her abilities are powered by Shields, which can be recharged with Energy. Balefire charges and launches electrical bolts. Pillage takes a percentage of nearby enemies’ Shields and Armor to replenish Hildryn’s Shields and Overshields, and removes Status Effects from her and allies. Haven creates a shield aura around allies and deals Radiation Damage to enemies that approach Hildryn. Aegis Storm lifts Hildryn into the air, rains Balefire rockets, and blasts nearby enemies upward; those enemies create an Energy Orb every few seconds. When her Shields run out, they are smashed into the ground. Her passive gives up to 3.5 seconds of invulnerability after Shields are depleted.
Practical use and build priorities
Pillage connects offense and defense: it strips a percentage of enemy Shields and Armor while restoring Hildryn’s own Shields and Overshields. It also provides a team cleanse for Status Effects. Haven adds an ally shield aura, while its approach-triggered Radiation Damage rewards enemies entering Hildryn’s vicinity. Aegis Storm provides airborne crowd control and generates Energy Orbs from affected nearby enemies over time. Hildryn has two Vazarin mod polarities and a Naramon aura polarity. Those polarities can inform mod-slot matching. The input gives no upgrade tracks or explicit mod recommendations, so specific investment priorities beyond her shield-based kit are not established.
Tradeoffs and alternatives
Her low listed Health and 0 Power make the shield-centered design especially important: her ability descriptions and passive all emphasize Shields, and depletion activates a finite invulnerability window rather than permanent protection. Aegis Storm’s enemy slam occurs when her Shields run out, so depletion also changes the ability’s described effect. Hildryn Prime has the same listed ability kit, 270 Health and 1,380 Shields, and adds a Naramon polarity. Oberon’s comparison description instead emphasizes healing and support, which may be relevant when healing is the desired function; it does not establish the same shield stripping or shield economy.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The kit is centered on Shields, while listed Health is 180 and listed Power is 0.
- The passive’s post-depletion invulnerability lasts up to 3.5 seconds; it is not continuous protection.
- Aegis Storm’s described enemy slam is tied to Hildryn’s Shields running out.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the 3.5-second shield depletion window as lasting protection.
- Overlooking that Pillage also replenishes Hildryn’s Shields and removes allied Status Effects.
- Assuming Aegis Storm’s Energy Orbs are immediate rather than generated every few seconds.
