Understand Kestrel Prime
Useful when…
- Thrown attacks with separate bounce and recall explosions.
- Normal melee attacks and slam attacks at close range.
Throw modes
Uncharged throws deal 184 Impact, 23 Slash, and 23 Puncture damage with 22% critical chance, a 2.1× critical multiplier, and 40% status chance. The bounce explosion deals 315 Blast damage out to 3.6 m with 40% falloff; the recall explosion deals 630 Blast with no listed falloff. Charged throws take 1.2 seconds and deal 368 Impact, 46 Slash, and 46 Puncture damage with 24% critical chance, a 2.2× multiplier, and 40% status chance. Their bounce explosion deals 630 Blast out to 4 m with 40% falloff; the recall explosion deals 1,260 Blast with no listed falloff.
Melee and slam profile
Normal melee attacks deal 157.5 Impact, 31.5 Slash, and 21 Puncture damage, with 20% critical chance, a 2.2× multiplier, and 40% status chance. Standard slams deal 420 Magnetic damage out to 5 m with 50% falloff. Heavy slams deal 630 Magnetic damage out to 6 m with 30% falloff; they have 10% critical chance and a 2× multiplier, compared with 20% and 2.2× for normal melee attacks. Both slam modes list 40% status chance. Melee range is 1.2 m, attack speed is 1.25, and heavy-attack wind-up is 1.2 seconds.
Comparison with other weapons
Regular Kestrel is a mastery-rank-0 glaive; its listed critical chance is 10% and its multiplier is 2×, compared with Kestrel Prime’s 20% and 2.2× top-level critical profile. Galatine is a heavy blade and Harmony is a scythe, so their listed weapon types differ from a throwing glaive.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Mastery requirement 11 and charged-throw charge time of 1.2 seconds.
- Melee range is 1.2 m; throw and explosion modes have separate damage profiles.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat charged and uncharged throws as the same attack; their damage and critical figures differ.
- Do not transfer normal melee’s 20% critical chance and 2.2× multiplier to the heavy slam, which lists 10% and 2×.
- Do not assume recall explosions have the bounce explosions’ falloff; none is listed for recall.
