Understand Koumei
Useful when…
- Apply random elemental statuses with Kumihimo threads.
- Complete Omikuji challenges for Decrees, or reject an unfavorable roll by holding the ability.
- Use Omamori charms for a chance to heal from enemy attacks.
Dice and ability effects
Kumihimo threads inflict a random Elemental Status Effect on enemies that touch them; triple sixes make the threads inflict every Elemental Status Effect. Omikuji presents a challenge whose completion earns a Decree. An unlucky roll adds a debuff, but holding the ability lets Koumei reject the Omikuji; triple sixes grant a Decree without a challenge. Omamori creates a dice-determined number of charms, each with a chance to turn an enemy hit into healing. Triple sixes grant invulnerability for the charms’ duration. Bunraku inflicts a dice-determined number of Status Effects on foes in front; triple sixes add further effects over time and extend it to enemies behind her.
Using her kit
Koumei’s abilities reward adapting to their rolls. Place Kumihimo where foes can touch its threads to apply random elemental statuses. Decide whether to accept or reject Omikuji’s challenge based on the roll and its debuff, and complete accepted challenges to earn Decrees. Omamori offers conditional healing rather than guaranteed prevention on every hit. Bunraku’s direction matters: its listed status effects target foes in front, with rear coverage only on triple sixes. Her passive periodically gives one of her weapons random Status Effects; the period and effect duration are not specified.
Investment and limits
Koumei lists 344 Health, 122 Shields, 444 Armor, and 122 Power. Her starting polarities are Madurai and Naramon, and her Aura polarity is Madurai. Her abilities are explicitly roll-dependent, so advice built around guaranteed triple sixes would be unreliable. Her defensive tools include charms that may heal from attacks and a conditional triple-six invulnerability effect; do not treat either as constant protection. Her listed build time is 86,400 seconds.
Alternatives
Voruna and Voruna Prime are described around a wolf pack, strength, and stealth, while Oberon is described as supporting allies through healing and nature-based abilities. Those descriptions indicate different priorities from Koumei’s random status effects and challenge Decrees; they do not establish equivalent mechanics or a direct upgrade.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Many effects vary with dice rolls, and some notable effects require triple sixes.
- Omikuji can add a debuff on an unlucky roll; holding rejects the challenge.
- Omamori charms have a chance to heal from attacks, not guaranteed healing on every hit.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every Omikuji roll gives a challenge without a debuff or that every roll is favorable.
- Counting on triple sixes as a routine source of invulnerability or guaranteed Decrees.
- Expecting every Omamori charm to heal when an attack hits.
