Understand Kreska
Useful when…
- Normal melee with innate Heat and a 22% status chance.
- Regular or heavy slams when area Heat damage is useful.
Damage by attack mode
Normal attacks list 190 total damage: 100 Heat, 45 Slash, 30 Impact, and 15 Puncture. They have 14% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 22% status chance. The regular slam is a separate area attack dealing 380 Heat, with 50% damage reduction at 8 m. Heavy slam deals 570 Heat in an area, with 30% reduction at 9 m and a listed 10% status chance. Keep the slam status values separate from the normal attack’s 22%.
Handling and fitting
Kreska has 2.4 m listed range, 0.917 attack speed, a 0.7 s heavy-attack wind-up, and a 5 s combo duration. It requires Mastery Rank 6 and has one Madurai polarity. Its slams can hit an area, though damage falls off with distance.
Alternatives by role
Ankyros is a fist weapon described as fast but short-ranged; it changes the handling emphasis rather than matching Kreska’s machete reach. Falcor is a glaive, a different weapon type. Coda Motovore requires Mastery Rank 17 and has a wheel buff that depends on which physical damage type it is modded for. Consider these only if their specific weapon type or conditional mechanic fits your goal.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Critical chance is 14%, so its profile is less critical-centered than its innate Heat may suggest.
- Slam damage falls off at range.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat the regular slam’s 22% status chance as applying to heavy slam, which lists 10%.
- Do not assume a hammer or glaive comparison shares Kreska’s machete handling.
