Understand Kullervo
Useful when…
- Use Wrathful Advance’s tap to charge a Heavy Attack and teleport to its target.
- Curse multiple enemies so damage to one harms the others.
- Use Recompense daggers for healing and, at full Health, Overguard.
Combat mechanics
Wrathful Advance has distinct inputs: tapping charges a Heavy Attack, teleports to the target, and temporarily increases Melee Critical Chance; holding teleports to a marked location. Kullervo’s passive improves Heavy Attack Efficiency and Heavy Attack Wind Up Speed on all melee weapons, though the numeric bonuses are unresolved. Recompense sends daggers around him: hits restore Health, while missed daggers damage Kullervo. If he is already at maximum Health, daggers that strike enemies grant Overguard. Collective Curse binds enemies; when Kullervo damages one cursed foe, every other cursed enemy takes a portion of that damage. Storm of Ukko rains daggers on enemies.
Practical melee use
Wrathful Advance is suited to a deliberate Heavy Attack setup: tap for the charged strike and teleport, or hold to reposition to a marked location. Keep those inputs distinct, since only the tap description specifies a Heavy Attack and temporary Melee Critical Chance. Collective Curse rewards attacking one cursed enemy when others are also cursed, because damage to that target propagates as a portion to the rest. Recompense trades accuracy for self-risk: successful hits heal, but misses strike Kullervo.
Survivability and investment
Kullervo lists 1005 Health, 550 Armor, and no Shields, with 175 Power and 1.1 sprint speed. Recompense supplies a healing path when daggers hit; at full Health, hits instead provide Overguard. Its misses still cause damage, so use it with attention to nearby enemies. His two starting Madurai polarities and Naramon Aura polarity suit slot planning, while his passive explicitly supports Heavy Attack Efficiency and wind-up speed. The exact values behind these passive bonuses are not available here.
Alternatives
Voruna and Voruna Prime are described around a wolf pack, strength, and stealth; Oberon is described as healing and supporting allies. Those are different stated emphases from Kullervo’s Heavy Attack teleport and damage-linking curse, not direct mechanical substitutes. The supplied recipe components establish build ingredients, but do not provide an acquisition activity or drop chance.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Recompense misses damage Kullervo, while hits heal him.
- Kullervo has no Shields; Recompense grants Overguard only when he is at maximum Health and daggers strike.
- Heavy Attack passive bonus values are unspecified.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing Wrathful Advance’s tap attack with its hold teleport.
- Using Recompense without accounting for daggers that miss and damage Kullervo.
- Assuming Overguard from Recompense occurs regardless of his Health or dagger hits.
