Understand Lex
Useful when…
- Use the normal attack for hitscan shots with 130 total physical damage, mostly Puncture.
- Use Incarnon Form when its projectile attack and separate Impact/Radiation damage profile suit the encounter.
What does each attack mode do?
The normal attack is hitscan at a listed speed of 1.08, with 130 physical damage split into 13 Impact, 104 Puncture, and about 13 Slash. It has 20% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 10% status chance. Incarnon Form is a separate projectile attack at speed 0.67 and projectile speed 120, listing 1,000 total damage split between 300 Impact and 700 Radiation, with 30% critical chance, a 3× critical multiplier, and 22% status chance.
What handling limits should you plan around?
Lex is semi-automatic with accuracy 16, a 6-round magazine, one listed multishot, and a 2.35-second reload. The normal attack's hitscan behavior suits deliberate aim at range; the Incarnon attack instead travels as a projectile. Manage the small magazine so you are not forced into a reload at a poor moment. The weapon's description specifically highlights low fire rate and magazine capacity alongside long-range efficiency.
What is a sensible progression choice?
Lex requires Mastery Rank 3, has a rank cap of 30, and lists Madurai polarity. Lex Prime is a separate higher-requirement option at Mastery Rank 8. Its comparison entry lists 25% critical chance rather than Lex's 20%, and describes the same low-rate, low-capacity long-range style. Consider it if you meet the requirement and want that related format; the candidate facts alone do not establish current acquisition or an automatic upgrade path.
When would a different sidearm suit better?
Viper is described as a full-auto pistol with a small magazine, very high fire rate, and fast reloads; that handling differs from Lex's slow, deliberate shots. Bronco Prime is a shotgun sidearm, also with a different firing format. These comparisons are useful if you want to move away from Lex's heavy hitscan style, but they do not prove one option is better for every build.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The 6-round magazine and 2.35-second reload make missed shots costly in time and ammunition.
- Normal and Incarnon attacks differ in projectile behavior, damage types, and critical/status values.
- The alternate form's activation and evolution conditions are not specified.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not use Incarnon projectile damage or status values for the normal hitscan attack.
- Do not ignore the 6-round magazine when choosing a sustained-firing play style.
- Do not assume Lex Prime's comparison summary establishes its current availability.
