Understand Magistar
Useful when…
- Use normal attacks for a strongly Impact-weighted hammer profile.
- Use standard or heavy slams for separate, wider-area attacks with distinct Impact and Blast damage.
How does it handle and damage?
Magistar’s normal attack lists 210 total damage: 168 Impact, 31.5 Puncture, and 10.5 Slash. Critical chance is 20%, critical multiplier is 2×, and status chance is 10%. Its listed attack speed is about 0.833, range is 2.5 m, and wind-up is 1.2 seconds, so the attack profile is deliberately weighty rather than quick.
What are the slam attacks?
The standard slam is an AoE Impact attack listed at 420 damage, with 10% status chance and 50% falloff by 9 m. The heavy slam is an AoE Blast attack listed at 630 damage, with 10% status chance and 30% falloff by 10 m. Neither mode should be described using the normal attack’s damage split.
What alternatives change the feel?
Jat Kittag is another hammer, but its supplied description only identifies it as a jet-powered mace and its Mastery requirement is Rank 5. Atterax is a Rank 5 whip with a different weapon type and listed 25% critical chance and 3× multiplier; Destreza is a Rank 7 rapier with 28% critical chance. These are comparisons by type and supplied stats, not proof that one is the right replacement for Magistar.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Low listed status chance and slower attack speed.
- Heavy slam damage falls off by 30% at 10 m.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not mistake the high slam values for normal-attack damage.
- Do not assume the hammer’s high Impact share implies high status application; its normal and slam status chances are 10%.
