Understand Protea Prime
Useful when…
- Staggering enemies with Shrapnel Vortex and building Blaze Artillery's attack power through hits.
- Protecting Protea, allies, and companions with Shield Satellites.
- Generating health, ammunition, and energy pickups with Dispensary.
- Using Temporal Anchor to rewind and return what was lost or expended during its active interval.
Ability functions
Grenade Fan has two modes: tap for Shrapnel Vortex, a slashing, staggering swirl, or hold for Shield Satellites, which protect Protea, allies, and companions. When shields break, a satellite is destroyed to double minimum Shield Gate invincibility time. Blaze Artillery fires plasma charges at enemies it faces, and each enemy hit increases the power of subsequent attacks. Dispensary generates an empowered health orb, a universal ammo pack, and an energy orb after a short delay.
Temporal Anchor
Temporal Anchor rewinds Protea after a short duration and triggers an implosion whose damage increases with the damage she dealt between placing the anchor and rewinding. It returns everything lost or expended during that interval. If Protea dies while the anchor is active, she rewinds to it, is knocked down, and the anchor vanishes.
Prime reference stats
Protea Prime has 185 armor, 270 health, and 455 shields. The listed Protea has 135 armor with the same health and shield values. Protea Prime's detailed properties list power 200, sprint speed 1.2, and Madurai plus two Naramon polarities. Its passive description contains unresolved placeholders, so its cast count and Ability Strength bonus cannot be stated numerically.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Blaze Artillery attacks enemies it faces, and its subsequent attacks grow in power through hits.
- Dispensary pickups arrive after a short delay; Shield Satellites are consumed when shields break.
- A death-triggered Temporal Anchor rewind leaves Protea knocked down and removes the anchor.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating Grenade Fan's tap and hold modes as simultaneous effects.
- Placing Blaze Artillery where it cannot face enemies.
- Expecting Dispensary pickups immediately.
- Assuming a death-triggered rewind avoids knockdown.
