Understand Slaytra
Useful when…
- Normal melee where its 35% listed status chance can support status application.
- Situations where longer Slash status duration is useful.
- Area slams when Impact or Blast damage is desired.
Normal attack and special trait
Slaytra's normal attack lists 333 damage: 166.5 Slash, 93.24 Puncture, and 73.26 Impact. Its listed speed is 0.833, critical chance 21%, multiplier 1.9, and status chance 35%. Its described special trait doubles the duration of Slash status effects. It requires mastery 13 and has a 2.5 listed range.
Slams and slots
Standard slam deals 666 Impact in an area, with falloff from 0 to 8 range and 50% reduction. Heavy slam deals 999 Blast, with falloff from 0 to 9 and 30% reduction. Both list 10% status chance. Two Madurai polarities are listed, which can help if the chosen mods match those slots.
Alternatives for other effects
Dorrclave is a different weapon with its own conditional effect: after 10 kills or assists it enters a spectral state that doubles follow-through and guarantees status for the next 10 attacks. Amphis is a staff whose description specifies shock damage on jump attacks. Sancti Magistar is a hammer with described charged-attack healing pulses for allies and status resistance while held. These are distinct weapon roles and effects, not direct replacements for Slaytra's extended Slash duration.
Limits
The doubled duration applies to Slash status effects; the supplied description does not say it doubles other status effects or increases their damage. Slam modes have their own damage types and 10% status chance, so do not assign them the normal attack's 35% chance.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Extended Slash status duration is the weapon's specific effect.
- Normal attack has high listed status chance but only 21% critical chance.
- Slam modes use Impact and Blast and list lower status chance than normal attacks.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the Slash-duration effect also increases Slash damage or the duration of other status types.
- Applying the normal attack's 35% status chance to slam modes.
- Expecting Dorrclave's kill-triggered spectral state or Sancti Magistar's healing effect from Slaytra.
