Understand Zenistar
Useful when…
- Set the disc near enemies to apply its heat aura while using melee attacks.
- Use the ordinary heavy-blade moveset when you do not need the disc deployed.
How do the attacks differ?
Normal attacks deal 80 Impact, 68 Slash, and 150 Heat damage, with 10% critical chance, 2× critical damage, and 30% status chance. While the disc is deployed, melee hits instead deal 13 Impact, 104 Slash, and 13 Puncture, with 15% status chance. The disc has a 1.1-second charge time: its impact deals 75 Impact, its explosion deals 350 Heat in an area, and its aura deals 50 Heat with 50% status chance. These are separate attack modes; the aura is the persistent area effect to consider when positioning the disc.
What are its handling and build considerations?
It has a listed range of about 2.6 m, 0.833 attack speed, 5-second combo duration, 55-degree blocking angle, and 0.6 follow-through. The listed heavy attack has 1.1-second wind-up. Base critical chance is 10% and critical multiplier is 2×, so its supplied profile emphasizes Heat and status more than frequent critical hits. Its one Madurai polarity can help when matching a mod to that slot; choose upgrades around whether you want to emphasize the ordinary melee attacks or the disc’s separate heat effects.
When might another melee weapon fit better?
Stropha is a Gunblade described as producing a powerful short-range shockwave, while Tonkkatt’s heat effect is tied to building its Combo Multiplier. Those are different mechanics from Zenistar’s deployed heat disc. Amphis is a staff whose description highlights multiple targets per strike and shock damage on jump attacks.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Disc attacks have lower listed status chance than the aura, and attacks while it is deployed use a different physical damage mix than normal swings.
- A listed 10% critical chance and 2× critical multiplier do not by themselves establish how a particular modded build will perform.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat disc aura damage, explosion damage, and normal melee damage as one attack mode.
- Do not assume the deployed-disc melee hits retain the normal attack’s 30% status chance or damage distribution.
