Understand Fast Deflection
Useful when…
- Improving shield recovery during combat when shields are depleted.
- Fitting a shield-focused survival setup where both recharge speed and delay matter.
What does it change?
At maximum rank, Fast Deflection gives +90% Shield Recharge and -45% Shield Recharge Delay. Its effects improve both the recharge rate and the delay before recharge; the listed values are mod bonuses, not a guaranteed amount of extra survivability in every situation.
Where does it fit?
This is a standard Warframe mod with Vazarin polarity, base drain 2, and a maximum rank of 5. Use it on a Warframe when faster shield recovery is relevant to your build; it is explicitly incompatible with Flawed Fast Deflection, so the two cannot be equipped together.
How far should you rank it?
The mod starts at +15% Shield Recharge and -7.5% Shield Recharge Delay, reaches +60% and -30% at rank 3, and tops out at +90% and -45% at rank 5. Rank increases both benefits, but fusion costs rise: the supplied examples list 20 Endo and 966 Credits for rank 0 to 1, 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits for rank 2 to 3, and 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits for rank 4 to 5. Rank it further when the stronger recovery is worth the escalating investment and capacity use.
What alternatives change the comparison?
Flawed Fast Deflection offers only Shield Recharge, up to +40%, and has no listed reduction to recharge delay. Adaptation instead builds resistance to a damage type after being hit, stacking up to 90% for 20 seconds; that is a different defensive mechanic. Adept Surge is a Conclave Exilus mod with +10% Mobility and -25 Health, so its listed effect and slot differ from Fast Deflection's shield recovery role.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Uses a standard Warframe mod slot and mod capacity for shield recovery rather than another benefit.
- Higher ranks improve both listed effects but require progressively larger fusion costs.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the recharge bonus to prevent shield loss; the mod improves recovery rather than reducing incoming damage.
- Equipping it alongside Flawed Fast Deflection, which is explicitly incompatible.
