Understand Freeze Force
Useful when…
- Use when nearby allies can benefit from added Cold Damage on their attacks.
- Consider ranking it for a stronger bonus and longer listed buff duration.
Effect and conditions
Freeze Force is a Frost augment for Freeze. Its effect requires holding the cast: allies within 15 m receive additional Cold Damage to their attacks. At rank 0 the bonus is 50% for 28 seconds; at rank 2 it is 80% for 36 seconds; at rank 3 it is 100% for 40 seconds. The listed effect is an ally buff, not a claim about a final damage total.
Ranking and slot cost
The augment reaches rank 3, uses a standard mod slot, has Zenurik polarity, and starts at base drain 6. The listed fusion steps cost 30/1,449, 60/2,898, and 120/5,796 Endo/Credits. Rank investment increases both the Cold Damage bonus and its duration; choose how far to rank based on the strength and uptime you want against those costs.
How it differs from other Frost augments
Icy Avalanche instead grants Overguard to allies based on enemies hit, making it a defensive effect. Ice Wave Impedance is listed as a Conclave variant and creates a frozen trail that applies Cold Status to enemies touching it. Chilling Globe affects enemies entering Snow Globe. These augments modify different abilities and serve distinct purposes; they are not direct substitutes for Freeze Force's held-cast ally damage buff.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- It occupies a standard mod slot and requires a held Freeze cast for the described buff.
- Its listed benefit applies to allies within 15 m and lasts for a finite duration.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not describe the buff as passive; the effect specifies holding Freeze to cast.
- Do not confuse this ally attack buff with Icy Avalanche's Overguard or the other augments' enemy-control effects.
