Understand Heavy Impact
Useful when…
- Knock down enemies around the landing point after a heavy landing.
- Add a damage and crowd-control effect to a landing-focused playstyle.
Effect and trigger
A heavy landing creates a shockwave. At rank 0 it reaches 1 m and deals 50 damage; at rank 3 it reaches 4 m and deals 200 damage; at rank 5 it reaches 6 m and deals 300 damage. The listed effect knocks foes off their feet. The mod does not describe a trigger for ordinary movement or attacks.
Slot and ranking
This standard Warframe mod uses an Exilus slot, has Naramon polarity, starts at 4 drain, and reaches rank 5. Ranking raises both radius and damage. The listed rank 4-to-5 step costs 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits, so weigh the larger area and damage against the investment if you only use the effect occasionally. Heavy Impact cannot be equipped with Flawed Heavy Impact.
Alternatives and limits
Flawed Heavy Impact is a separate, incompatible standard-slot mod: its listed maximum is a 2 m shockwave for 200 damage, with a lower base drain of 2. Adaptation instead grants damage-type resistance after taking damage, while Adept Surge trades health for mobility; neither has Heavy Impact’s landing-triggered knockdown effect. Choose by the function and slot you need, not by assuming these effects are interchangeable.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The effect requires a heavy landing, so its value depends on using that maneuver.
- Higher ranks improve radius and damage but require additional fusion investment.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the shockwave to trigger from ordinary attacks or movement.
- Equipping it alongside Flawed Heavy Impact, which is explicitly incompatible.
