Understand Ironclad Charge
Useful when…
- Hit enemies with Rhino Charge to gain an Armor Rating bonus.
- Use the bonus during a short period when increased armor is useful.
Effect and scaling
At rank 0, each enemy hit increases Armor Rating by 12% for 4 seconds. At rank 2, the bonus is 37% for 8 seconds; maximum rank 3 provides 50% for 10 seconds per enemy hit. The effect is tied to enemies hit by Rhino Charge, so it does not grant the bonus just by equipping the mod.
Compatibility and alternatives
Ironclad Charge is a standard Rhino augment with Zenurik polarity, maximum rank 3, and base drain 6. Reinforcing Stomp instead replenishes Iron Skin by 4% for each enemy affected by Rhino Stomp; Iron Shrapnel detonates remaining Iron Skin health on recast; Piercing Roar adds range and described crowd-control effects to Roar. These augments serve distinct ability purposes.
Rank investment
The listed fusion steps cost 30, 60, then 120 Endo, and 1,449, 2,898, then 5,796 Credits. Higher ranks improve both the Armor Rating bonus per enemy hit and its duration. Rank it according to how reliably Rhino Charge hits enemies in the situations where the temporary armor is useful.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Requires Rhino Charge to hit enemies to grant the listed armor bonus.
- The bonus is temporary, lasting at most 10 seconds at maximum rank.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the armor bonus is permanent or applies without hitting enemies.
- Confusing it with augments that modify Iron Skin, Rhino Stomp, or Roar.
