Meteor Crash

Archmelee Impact damage mod

Released Jul 8, 2016

Meteor Crash adds Impact damage to an Archmelee weapon. Consider it when you specifically want to raise that weapon’s Impact component; it does not provide the status-chance bonus implied by some dual-stat Archmelee mods.

Understand Meteor Crash

Useful when…

  • Increasing an Archmelee weapon’s Impact damage component.
  • Choosing a Naramon-polarity Archmelee damage mod when Impact is the desired damage type.

Effect and fit

Meteor Crash grants +15% Impact at rank 0, +60% at rank 3, and +90% at rank 5. It is a standard-slot Archmelee Mod with Naramon polarity, base drain 2, and maximum rank 5. The listed effect is Impact damage only; no status chance increase is specified.

Rank investment

The rank 0→1 step costs 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits; the final listed 4→5 step costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits. Rank it according to how much Impact bonus your weapon configuration needs, since the final ranks cost more than the early increases.

Related mods and sources

Astral Slash is the corresponding listed Slash-damage choice, while Blazing Steel adds Heat rather than Impact. Astral Autopsy serves a different purpose: it scans enemies killed by fatal strikes, provided a Codex Scanner is equipped and has a charge. Listed Meteor Crash sources include Blite Captains, Glacik Commanders, and several Archwing mission rotations.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The bonus applies to Impact, so it may not serve a build seeking another damage type.
  • It has no listed status chance bonus.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Reading the name as evidence of a status-chance increase; only Impact is listed.
  • Treating the Slash, Heat, and Impact mods as interchangeable damage bonuses.
