Understand Nebula Bore
Useful when…
- Use it on an Archmelee weapon when additional Puncture damage fits the weapon setup.
- Compare the damage type it adds with Slash or Heat options when choosing a mod for the same purpose.
What does it add?
Nebula Bore increases Puncture damage. It gives +15% at rank 0, +60% at rank 3, and +90% at rank 5. This is a Puncture damage bonus, not a stated status-chance bonus.
Which Archmelee setup can use it?
It is a standard Archmelee mod with Naramon polarity and base drain 2. Astral Slash instead adds +90% Slash, while Blazing Steel adds +120% Heat; those are alternatives for different damage types, not interchangeable Puncture bonuses. Astral Autopsy provides a utility effect: fatal strikes scan an enemy, provided a Codex Scanner is equipped and has an available charge.
How should you rank it?
The five-rank mod reaches +90% Puncture at rank 5. The supplied rank 4-to-5 example costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits. Consider that final cost against the increase from rank 3's +60%; a lower rank may be a practical stopping point if its Puncture bonus already meets the build's needs.
What should you watch for?
Do not confuse Puncture damage with Slash, Heat, or status chance. Astral Autopsy's scan effect also has explicit equipment conditions: an equipped Codex Scanner and an available charge.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Adds Puncture rather than the Slash or Heat damage types offered by the listed alternatives.
- The final rank has a substantial stated fusion cost.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating its Puncture bonus as status chance or as another damage type.
- Using Astral Autopsy's scan effect without an equipped Codex Scanner charge.
