Understand Primed Animal Instinct
Useful when…
- Increase Loot Radar and Enemy Radar together.
- Use a Companion slot for exploration-oriented detection or awareness.
Radar effects
At rank 10, Primed Animal Instinct grants +55m Loot Radar and +33m Enemy Radar. Rank 0 provides +5m and +3m respectively; rank 5 provides +30m and +18m. It is a Companion mod, so it is installed on compatible Companion equipment rather than a Warframe or weapon.
Ranks and compatibility
The Legendary mod has Naramon polarity, uses a standard slot, and reaches rank 10. The listed rank 5-to-6 step costs 1,280 Endo and 61,824 Credits; rank 9-to-10 costs 20,480 Endo and 989,184 Credits. It explicitly lists Animal Instinct as incompatible. Standard Animal Instinct provides +30m Loot Radar and +18m Enemy Radar, so choose between the variants rather than planning to stack them.
Other Companion utility
Accelerated Deflection increases Shield Recharge and reduces Shield Recharge Delay. Aerial Bond has effects tied to airborne kills and the Warframe being airborne. Those provide different utility from Primed Animal Instinct’s radar bonuses and are not direct radar replacements.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Higher ranks increase both radar ranges and have a substantial listed fusion cost.
- The mod uses a Companion slot and cannot be equipped with the explicitly incompatible Animal Instinct.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Trying to equip Primed Animal Instinct alongside Animal Instinct despite the exclusion.
- Treating the Companion mod as if it were equipped in a Warframe or weapon slot.
