Understand Purifying Flames
Useful when…
- Conclave support against Status Effects.
- Ember setups that use Fire Blast to support allies positioned within its expanding ring.
What does it do?
Allies hit by Fire Blast’s expanding ring are cured of Status Effects and receive Status Immunity. At maximum rank, that immunity lasts 4 seconds; rank 0 grants 1 second, and rank 2 grants 3 seconds. The listed rank scaling changes immunity duration.
Ability fit and slot
Purifying Flames is an Ember Conclave augment in a standard slot, with Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. The ally must be hit by the expanding Fire Blast ring. The mod is explicitly incompatible with Healing Flame.
Investment and other Fire Blast options
Fusion costs rise from 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits at rank 0 to 1, to 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits from rank 2 to 3. Healing Flame is a standard variant Fire Blast augment whose listed effect heals based on Immolation level and can grant Ember Overguard from overhealing; it serves a different support purpose and cannot be combined with Purifying Flames. Exothermic modifies Inferno’s energy-orb drops, and Fireball Frenzy modifies Fireball to grant allies Heat Damage, so those affect different abilities.
Acquisition
Conclave, Tempest is the listed source; the entry lists a 100% chance.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The cleanse and immunity require the expanding Fire Blast ring to hit allies.
- It is a Conclave variant, and cannot be equipped with Healing Flame.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Status Immunity lasts longer than the 4-second maximum listed.
- Using it as if it applied to allies who are not hit by the expanding ring.
- Confusing its Conclave variant with Healing Flame’s standard variant.
