Understand Pyroclastic Flow
Useful when…
- Nezha setups that use Fire Walker to damage enemies before releasing its accumulated damage.
- Creating a fire trail that lasts up to 10 seconds at maximum rank.
How does the stored damage work?
Pyroclastic Flow accumulates a multiple of the damage Fire Walker deals, then unleashes that amount in a trail of fire. At maximum rank, it accumulates 250% of Fire Walker’s damage and the trail lasts 10 seconds. Rank 0 accumulates 100% and lasts 6 seconds; rank 2 accumulates 200% and lasts 8 seconds. The listed effect does not specify further details about how the trail applies damage, so its behavior should be understood from these stated values alone.
Fit and rank investment
This is a standard Nezha augment with Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. Fusion costs rise from 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits at rank 0 to 1, to 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits from rank 2 to 3. Both the stored-damage percentage and trail duration increase with rank, so investment is most useful when you expect to use Fire Walker’s damage and trail effect.
Other Nezha augments
Divine Retribution modifies Divine Spears so Status Effects spread to speared enemies and spear explosions scale with remaining Slash, Toxin, and Heat effects. Reaping Chakram increases the ring’s damage and the chance for enemies to drop Health Orbs after hits. Safeguard lets Warding Halo be cast on allies at 50% effectiveness. These affect different abilities and purposes; they are not direct replacements for Pyroclastic Flow’s Fire Walker interaction.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The effect depends on Fire Walker dealing damage to accumulate.
- The released trail lasts 6 to 10 seconds depending on rank.
- It uses a standard slot and has base drain 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting stored damage without Fire Walker dealing damage first.
- Treating the accumulated percentage as a final damage figure independent of Fire Walker’s damage.
- Assuming trail details beyond the listed stored-damage multiple and duration.
