Understand Resonance
Useful when…
- Banshee builds centered on Sonar weak-point kills
- Combat where a kill can be secured by shooting an enemy’s Sonar weak point
Trigger and duration
Killing an enemy by shooting its Sonar weak point triggers another Sonar. The new Sonar lasts for a rank-dependent portion of its duration: 50% at rank 0, 80% at rank 2, and 100% at rank 3. The trigger requires both a kill and a shot on the weak point; merely hitting a weak point without killing does not meet the stated condition.
Fit and investment
Resonance is a Banshee-compatible standard augment with Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. Ranking increases the duration fraction of the triggered Sonar. The supplied rank-step costs rise with investment, so rank it according to how much duration you need from successful triggers. It does not remove the requirement to kill through a Sonar weak point.
Other Banshee augment roles
Sonic Siphon is described as granting Armor for each enemy hit by Sonic Boom for 20 seconds; Resonating Quake changes Sound Quake into a channel with Gas damage and status effect leaks; Savage Silence makes Silence stagger enemies and increases Finisher damage by 300%. These support different ability effects, so compare them by the job you want an augment to do rather than treating them as interchangeable Sonar extensions.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The triggered Sonar requires a kill made by shooting a Sonar weak point.
- Lower ranks provide a shorter fraction of Sonar’s duration.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting a trigger from a weak-point hit that does not kill the enemy.
- Assuming a lower-rank triggered Sonar lasts for its full duration.
