Understand Saxum Carapace
Useful when…
- Use it when a standard Warframe slot for both Armor and Health bonuses fits the build.
- Compare its listed bonuses with a conditional armor effect if that condition suits the build.
Armor and Health bonuses
Saxum Carapace grants 9% Armor and 3% Health at rank 0, 37% Armor and 13% Health at rank 3, and 55% Armor and 20% Health at rank 5. It is a standard Warframe mod with Vazarin polarity and base drain 4.
Related defensive mods
Health Conversion has a conditional armor effect: Health Orbs grant 450 Armor per stack, up to three stacks, and taking damage consumes a stack after three seconds. Carnis Carapace and Jugulus Carapace list the same maximum Armor and Health bonuses as Saxum Carapace: 55% and 20%, respectively.
Ranks and fusion costs
The mod has five ranks. Listed costs are 20 Endo and 966 Credits for rank 0 to 1, 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits for rank 2 to 3, and 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits for rank 4 to 5. Its bonuses increase to 55% Armor and 20% Health at rank 5.
Listed drop sources
Listed sources include Deimos Saxum and Deimos Saxum Rex, with raw chance values of 2.21, and Level 25–30 Cambion Drift bounty rotations A, B, and C, with raw values ranging from 1.7 to 2.67. No unit is specified for these chance values.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- It uses a standard Warframe slot and has base drain 4.
- The maximum listed bonuses are reached at rank 5.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating Health Conversion's armor stacks as unconditional; its description ties them to Health Orb pickups and stack loss after damage.
