Understand Shield of Shadows
Useful when…
- Use with Nekros when Shadows of the Dead and its damage-sharing effect are part of the setup.
Effect and condition
Shield of Shadows is an augment for Shadows of the Dead. At rank 0, each Shadow within 50 meters takes 3% of damage done to Nekros in his stead; rank 2 raises this to 5%, and rank 3 to 6%. The stated condition is proximity to Nekros, and the effect applies per Shadow within that range.
Rank and slot investment
This Rare Nekros mod uses a standard slot, has Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and a maximum rank of 3. Listed rank steps cost 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits, 60 Endo and 2,898 Credits, then 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. The bonus increases at each listed rank; invest according to how much you rely on the damage-sharing effect and the slot capacity available.
Other Nekros augments
Creeping Terrify modifies Terrify with reduced movement speed, and Despoil changes Desecrate’s cost from Energy to Health per corpse. Discharge Strike is identified as a Conclave variant of Soul Punch. These address different abilities and do not provide Shield of Shadows’ stated Shadow damage-sharing effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Requires Shadows of the Dead to make use of its augment effect.
- The listed damage-sharing effect is limited to Shadows within 50 meters.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Shadows outside 50 meters receive the stated effect.
- Treating this as a general Nekros defensive mod unrelated to Shadows of the Dead.
