Understand Shock Trooper
Useful when…
- Buffing nearby allies’ attacks with Electricity damage after a held Shock cast.
- Building Volt around coordinated proximity to allies during the buff window.
Effect and conditions
Shock Trooper is a standard Volt augment with Zenurik polarity and base drain 6. Holding the cast of Shock grants allies within 15 m additional Electricity Damage to their attacks: 50% for 28 seconds at rank 0, 80% for 36 seconds at rank 2, and 100% for 40 seconds at rank 3. The listed effect requires the hold cast and allies to be in range when it is granted.
Rank and slot tradeoff
The last rank adds 20 percentage points and 4 seconds over rank 2. The listed fusion costs rise by step from 30 to 60 to 120 Endo and 1,449 to 2,898 to 5,796 Credits. Rank it according to how often you rely on the longer, stronger buff, while accounting for the mod slot and base drain 6.
Other Volt augments
Shocking Speed augments Speed and deals Electricity damage to nearby enemies while Volt is moving under Speed. Transistor Shield modifies Electric Shield interactions. These support different abilities and purposes, so they are alternatives for the augment slot only when their specific behavior suits the build; they do not provide Shock Trooper’s ally attack buff.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Consumes an augment slot and base drain 6 to provide a conditional nearby-ally buff.
- The buff duration and bonus increase with rank, requiring additional fusion investment.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using a tap cast and expecting the hold-cast augment effect.
- Assuming allies outside 15 m receive the buff.
