Understand Warhead
Useful when…
- Increase damage from Railjack ordnance weapons.
- Build around ordnance damage when its damage contribution is more valuable than the listed utility alternatives.
Effect and equipment
Warhead is a standard Plexus mod with Madurai polarity, maximum rank 10, and base drain 6. At maximum rank it grants +100% Ordnance Damage; rank 0 grants +9.1%, and rank 5 grants +54.5%. This is a mod bonus and does not specify a final damage total for any ordnance weapon.
Ranking and capacity tradeoff
The listed fusion costs rise substantially at high ranks: the first step costs 20 Endo and 966 Credits, the step from rank 5 to 6 costs 640 Endo and 30,912 Credits, and the final step costs 10,240 Endo and 494,592 Credits. Rank it according to the value of ordnance damage in your Plexus setup; the top rank’s bonus comes with a substantial listed final-step cost.
Alternative ordnance priorities
Ordnance Cheap Shot gives a chance not to consume munitions, Ordnance Velocity increases projectile speed, and Overloader increases maximum ordnance munitions. Those mods solve ammunition efficiency, travel speed, and capacity concerns respectively, rather than directly increasing ordnance damage. Warhead is listed from several enemy sources, including Gyre Cutter and Elite Kosma Taktis; the supplied source chances vary by enemy.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Consumes Plexus capacity and its maximum-rank fusion step is costly.
- Provides damage rather than munitions efficiency, projectile speed, or maximum ammunition.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not read +100% Ordnance Damage as a guaranteed doubling of final damage in every situation.
- Do not spend the costly final rank automatically if ordnance damage is not a priority for the Plexus setup.
