Understand Wildfire
Useful when…
- Use on compatible rifles when adding Heat and extending magazine capacity are both useful.
- Consider it over a magazine-only mod when its Heat effect also serves your build.
Effects and fit
At maximum rank, Wildfire grants +60% Heat and +20% Magazine Capacity. It is a standard rifle mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 6, and three ranks. These are mod bonuses, not final weapon damage or a stated increase to each magazine by a fixed number of rounds.
Rank progression
At rank 0 it grants +15% Heat and +5% Magazine Capacity; rank 2 grants +45% and +15%; rank 3 reaches +60% and +20%. The final listed step costs 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. Rank it when both bonuses are useful; if only magazine capacity matters, a lower-cost or more focused option may better match the slot.
Alternatives for magazine capacity
Flawed Magazine Warp lists +12% magazine capacity, while Magazine Warp lists +30%. Magnetic Capacity lists +40% magazine capacity alongside +60% Magnetic. These alternatives differ in secondary effect, polarity, drain, and variant; Wildfire is the one among these examples that supplies Heat.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its base drain is 6, and the maximum rank requires fusion investment.
- The magazine bonus is smaller than the listed Magazine Warp bonus, though Wildfire also grants Heat.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Evaluating Wildfire as a magazine-only mod and ignoring its Heat bonus.
- Assuming its percentage magazine bonus translates to a particular number of rounds without the weapon’s base magazine size.
