Reference coverage and sources

Sources are limited to the supplied Dark Souls II wiki tables. The weapon catalog and Fextralife upgrade data are labeled for Dark Souls II but do not specify Scholar of the First Sin separately; the wiki.gg infusion table is likewise not edition-labeled. No distinct DLC, NG+, or other edition variants are identified in the supplied data.

Counts describe the imported source tables. They do not establish complete coverage of every patch, DLC or upgrade variant. Multiple values remain labeled as listed values when the source does not identify their upgrade levels.

If you are comparing reinforcement paths

Read the Normal and Boss weapon records for the material-based base-damage progression, then review the limitations for weapon-specific exceptions.

Common mistakes to avoid

Infusion and reinforcement are separate operations

The sources describe infusion as independent of reinforcement level. Infusing changes damage types or scaling, while reinforcement remains a separate incremental upgrade path.

Infusions have equipment restrictions

The material page states that shields cannot be Raw, Enchanted, or Mundane; bows, Greatbows, and Crossbows cannot be Poison or Bleed; and hammers cannot be Bleed.

Infusion services require McDuff and the Dull Ember

The sources identify Steady Hand McDuff as the infusion provider and state that the Dull Ember is required. The Ember’s stated location differs between the original DX9 and Scholar DX11 versions.

Edition and mechanic limits
  • No spell-specific build choices are included because the passages do not describe enough named spells and effects for substantive spell records.
  • Some source passages conflict or contain uncertain language, especially around exact infusion mechanics for innate elemental weapons; such details are excluded.
  • No optimality, comparative effectiveness, patch state, or complete weapon compatibility has been independently verified.
