Metal weapons at a forge
Metal weapons, including crossbows, and bolts can be made at a metalsmith’s forge using a single bar of metal. Weaponsmith skill governs the quality and production speed of these items.
How it works
The weapon source distinguishes manufactured weapons from natural weapons and notes that fortress-mode metal weapons are a forge product. Crossbows are ranged weapons, but can be used as melee weapons when their user is engaged at close range. Weapon skill affects combat use, but the available weapon evidence does not provide a supported ranking among specific weapon types.
