None★★★★★Aether’s value depends on the chosen form: the abilities range from Anemo grouping and elemental absorption to Cryo crystal attacks, Dendro field support, Electro energy effects, Geo constructs, Hydro aimed attacks and Pyro coordinated damage. Choose a form for the effect you need, and invest in that form’s own combat talent tracks.
Cryo★★★★★Aloy is a bow user whose skill throws a Freeze Bomb that splits into contact or delayed bomblets. Hits from the bomb or bomblets lower enemy ATK and grant Coil stacks. At four stacks, she consumes them all to enter Rushing Ice for 10 seconds, increasing normal-attack damage and converting those attacks to Cryo. Consider her when you want a Cryo-infused normal-attack window or a quick AoE Cryo burst. Her kit asks you to understand stack timing: she can gain at most one Coil every 0.1 seconds, and cannot gain new ones while Rushing Ice is active.
Pyro★★★★Amber combines aimed shots with an HP-scaling taunt and a low-cost, short-duration burst. Her kit offers several distinct uses, but her normal attacks, skill, and burst serve different purposes and should be improved according to how you actually play her.
Hydro★★★★Barbara is a 4-star Hydro Catalyst character whose Elemental Skill combines periodic healing for the active character with healing triggered by her Normal and Charged Attack hits. Her Burst provides a large party heal. Consider her when you need healing alongside Hydro damage, while accounting for the Skill’s Wet application and its cooldown.
Cryo★★★★Diona provides a shield through Icy Paws and a healing, Cryo-damaging field through Signature Mix. Her held skill fires more paws and gives the resulting shield bonus absorption, while her burst heals characters in its area over time. Consider her when you want both defensive coverage and Cryo application from one character.
Pyro★★★★★Klee is a Pyro catalyst user whose normal and charged attacks, skill, and burst all deal Pyro damage. Use her when you want repeated area damage and can keep her on the field to attack; her skill also creates mines, and her burst attacks nearby opponents while active.
None★★★★★Lumine uses a sword and can take Anemo, Cryo, Dendro, Electro, Geo, Hydro, or Pyro form. Each form has its own normal attack, skill, and burst track; their shared sword attacks are five-hit combos, two-hit charged attacks costing 20 Stamina, and plunging attacks. Consider her when you want to adapt the Traveler to a form’s particular damage, elemental application, or support mechanics.
Anemo★★★★Sucrose is an Anemo catalyst who groups nearby enemies with her skill and Burst and shares Elemental Mastery with party members through Swirl and skill hits. Use her when reaction-focused allies can benefit from that shared Elemental Mastery and when grouping helps keep opponents together.
Hydro★★★★★Tartaglia is a Hydro bow user whose Elemental Skill converts his attacks to close-range Hydro strikes. His Riptide marks create additional effects when he hits marked opponents, and the Skill cooldown grows with time spent in melee stance.
Anemo★★★★★Varka is an Anemo claymore user who wields dual claymores and enters a 12-second powered attack mode with a tapped Skill. In that mode, party composition determines corresponding elemental damage and can unlock Four Winds' Ascension and Azure Devour. His held Skill instead charges a leap.
