Choose a form for the effect you need, and invest in that form’s own combat talent tracks.
Cryo★★★★Chongyun creates a field that infuses eligible sword, claymore, and polearm users’ weapons with Cryo and increases their Normal Attack speed. His Burst adds AoE Cryo damage. He fits parties that can use Cryo-infused weapon attacks without disrupting their intended damage type.
Cryo★★★★★Ganyu’s charged shot reaches a second charge level that fires a Cryo Frostflake Arrow and an AoE Cryo bloom. Her Burst repeatedly strikes opponents within an area and buffs active party members’ Cryo damage there; consider her for charged-shot damage or area Cryo support.
Pyro★★★★★Hu Tao is a Pyro polearm character whose Elemental Skill spends 30% of her current HP to power a nine-second infusion window. Use her when you can keep her on field for charged attacks and manage the health cost; her burst can deal area damage and restore HP, with stronger effects at or below half health.
Anemo★★★★★Kazuha is an Anemo sword character who gathers nearby enemies and objects, then boosts party members’ elemental damage after triggering Swirl. Consider him when a team deals Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro damage and benefits from pulling opponents together.
Anemo★★★★Lan Yan is an Anemo catalyst user whose skill provides a shield and a dash, followed by an aerial ring attack. Consider her when you want a shield that scales with ATK, can absorb one of four specified elements, and can add corresponding elemental damage to her rings after the right skill interaction.
None★★★★★Lumine uses a sword and can take Anemo, Cryo, Dendro, Electro, Geo, Hydro, or Pyro form. Each form has its own normal attack, skill, and burst track; their shared sword attacks are five-hit combos, two-hit charged attacks costing 20 Stamina, and plunging attacks. Consider her when you want to adapt the Traveler to a form’s particular damage, elemental application, or support mechanics.
Pyro★★★★Xiangling is a Pyro Polearm character whose Burst creates a moving Pyronado that continues dealing Pyro damage as the active character moves and attacks. Consider her when you want persistent off-field Pyro application and damage; her Skill adds a separate stationary source of fire.
Dendro★★★★Yaoyao’s Yuegui throws White Jade Radishes that damage nearby opponents and heal nearby characters, with targeting affected by party HP. Her burst provides a brief period of stronger teamwide healing and additional radishes, but its benefits end when she leaves the field.
Geo★★★★Yun Jin is a four-star Geo polearm user whose main contribution is Flying Cloud Flag Formation: her Elemental Burst grants nearby party members a limited supply of bonus damage when they hit opponents with Normal Attacks. Her Skill offers a timed shield and Geo counterattack, but the Burst is the central reason to use her.
